THE KEMP HARRIS BAND
If there is a singular moment or performance that will forever be etched in the Fallout Shelter history it is this performance, this moment with The Kemp Harris Group. Kemp Harris is a theatrical performer backed by a powerhouse quartet of musicians that get his mission and can immerse themselves in his deep and powerful message. Kemp is a brilliant songwriter that writes from a perspective seen by only those that have felt oppression, frustration and the strength one must summon to overwhelm it. Swamp-gospel may not be a genre yet...but there's still time.
Growing up in the south in the early 1960's, when you're black, means a lot of things have passed before your eyes...a lot of music too. Kemp Harris discovered Mississippi Fred McDowell and his trajectory for swamp riddled, smoke filled blues began. The Kemp Harris Band features Josh Stoltzfus on guitar, Jim Lucchese on drums, Adam Osgood on harmonica and vocals, Brian Verrochi on bass and the inimitable Kemp Harris on vocals and piano.
