It's been more than two decades since Paul Kelly has toured North America with a full band but with a new album, 'Life is Fine,' in tow Paul set out to let us all know life is indeed fine. The monumental Australian singer/songwriter/musician and civil rights advocate is one of Down Under's most treasured musicians with over 20 albums to his credit and a place as one of the most respected songwriters of his generation. His band was remarkable on September 21, 2017 at The Fallout Shelter as they made a rare 'small venue' stop to film The Extended Play Sessions. The backing vocal duo comprised of sisters Vika and Linda Bull were masterful in their own opportunities to take the lead as well as backing Paul on most of the set.

The band flowed with ease and grace through the songs most of which comprise the new album. Flanked by Ashley Naylor on lead guitar and Bill McDonald on bass with keyboard ace Cameron Bruce and long time drummer Steve Connolly behind Paul Kelly was fully in charge and his wisdom as a band leader let the musicians carry the beautiful melodies and allow the songs space to expand with craftsmanship and subtle sophistication. The incredible harmonies of Vika and Linda Bull added beautiful layers to these songs. The songs are magnificent sculptures of life carved out of a lifetime of engaging in the world around this humble and evolved man. He's a treasure to Australia and the rest of the world.
