The Gravel Project is the brain-child of brothers Andrew and Jordan Gravel and includes the percussion duo of Dave Fox (drums) and Brandon Mayes (percussion). It's fusion of jazz, rock, funk and soul with high energy delivery and marksman like precision and there's influences of Southern soul, jam-band improvisation and beautiful melodic sensibilities that center around the in-depth songwriting of Andrew and Jordan Gravel. Instrumental music is making a bit of a resurgence on the Boston music scene with some great artists like Matt Stubbs and The Antiguas, Ken Clark Trio and The Gravel Project.

'Jam Today' is an uplifting positive message about living in the moment. It shows the improvisational or "jam band" side of The Gravel Project. With Andrew Gravel - guitar, Jordan Gravel - Hammond B3, Fender Rhodes, Brandon Mayes - percussion and Dave Fox - drums. "Brothers" was written as an homage to the Allman Brothers following the death of Gregg Allman. If there's a song that brings the night with the Gravel Project together it's this one, performed by brothers for the Brothers. They were joined on The Extended Play Sessions by Boston blues rising star Sonya Rae Taylor on guitar and vocals. This is a really tight quartet that is making some in-roads into the crowded Boston music scene but they will be heard from for quite some time.
